Finding your way around Cedar Park is about to get a little easier. The city of Cedar Park and Motivational Systems, Inc. (MSI) have partnered on city-wide sign kiosks.
The new signs will be placed throughout Cedar Park to help direct people to city facilities such as parks, hospitals and libraries as well as new home communities. The kiosks incorporate a side banner to highlight special events. The black iron structures were designed to reflect the identity of the city and incorporate elements of the distinctive cedar branch logo.
The program will not use city funds. MSI is paying for costs associated with building and placing the structures. Builders and developers may purchase a panel to direct people to their community.
“MSI has designed and administrated kiosk programs for municipalities and master planned communities across the West and we look forward to partnering with the community on this new program,” said Kevin Fleming, regional vice president for Motivational Systems. “These programs are an excellent example of how the business community and government can partner for the benefit of the community.”
At the beginning of April, the first signs will be in place.
Melanie Carr, city of Cedar Park spokeswoman explained, “In addition to the benefit of having additional signage to help direct residents and visitors, the kiosk program will also give an effective and legal advertising venue to builders and developers. This should help reduce some of the temporary roadside signs.”
