The Cedar Park Public Library, located at 550 Discovery Blvd., has won an award for “Picturing America,” an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities, conducted in cooperation with the American Library Association.

This award is designed to enhance the teaching, study and understanding of American history and culture. “Picturing America” brings some of the nation's greatest works of art into school classrooms and public libraries.

The award will include a set of 40 high-quality reproductions of American masterpieces, a teacher's resource book, and additional educational resources to be distributed in September 2008 for display during the 2008-09 school year and beyond.
