There is still more than two months before the 2008 high school football season kicks off, but there is still plenty to talk about with last week's release of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine.
The magazine, with its annual predictions of football districts throughout the state, sees good things for both Cedar Park and Leander in District 16-5A with both picked for the playoffs.
Leander is tabbed to place second in the pre-season magazine and to be the district's top seed in Division II.
Cedar Park is also getting a playoff nod, picked third overall and will be the second seed in Division II.
Vista Ridge, who will be playing in 5A for the first time, is picked to finish eighth.
Stony Point, the defending district champion, got the top pre-season nod. Westwood is being slotted as the last playoff team.
