Naval Academy ringer

Coach Richie Valentour of is pleased to announce, Brandon Tinkham, a Level 10 gymnast, is shown working on the still rings during a routine. Tinkham, who trains at Acrotex Gymnastics in Cedar Park, has received an official appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. He will proudly join the Class of 2012 and will be sworn in on July 2, 2008. Brandon will represent the U.S. Navy at gymnastics meets across the country. He has been active in gymnastics since the third grade, and has been with Acrotex for five years. Of the six challenging events: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vaulting, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bars, Brandon favors the Still Rings. Upon completion of his studies and four-year degree, he hopes to train at the Naval flight school and become a career pilot for the U.S. Navy.
