SPORTS ALERT: CP boys cross country finishes 8th in nation

The Cedar Park boys cross country team ended its season on the national stage last Saturday at the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon with the Timberwolves finishing eighth in the nation.
"This was just an amazing experience for us to run with the best teams in the nation," said Cedar Park coach Timo Sheard.
Cedar Park top runner Parker Stinson led the way with a time of 15-minutes, 46.2 seconds to finish 24th overall, with teammate Jay McIllece right behind in 26th place at 15:48.60.
The top individual performance in the boys' race came from Vista Ridge's Zach Ornelas, as he finished ninth in the nation with a time of 15:30.80
Vista Ridge also made some waves in the girls' race, as the Lady Rangers ran to a 18th place finish in the team standings.
Leading the way for the girls' team was Amanda Russell in 27th place at 18:25.7 and Ashley Isham in 59th place at 18:48.9
