3 LISD students earn scholarships; Other scholastics

Three seniors from Leander ISD have earned the Gift of Life Scholarship offered by STAR Windshield Repair, based in Cedar Park. Owner Eileen Smith awarded Alyssa Redd and Lora Blackwell from Leander High School and Chelsea Smith from Cedar Park High School $1,000 each for their successful participation. Candidates compete based on their individual blood and blood product donation history during the senior school year.
Texas State University
Texas State University-San Marcos announced that Lindsey N. Nichols of Leander earned Dean's List recognition for excellent academic performance for the Spring 2009 semester.
Lindsey is the daughter of Jay and Crystal Nichols and the granddaughter of John and Henrietta Stanford.
Texas State students must complete 12 semester hours and earn a minimum GPA of 3.5 to be recognized for the Dean's List.
Angelo State
Students achieving the Dean's List for the 2009 spring semester have been announced by Angelo State University in San Angelo.
To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must be enrolled full time at ASU and must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Cedar Park students are:
Alisen L. Adcock, Brianne L. Bosworth, Danielle A. Gauna, James A. Hanzel, Alyssa L. Millard, Kristin N. Pick and Laurie M. Sides. Terra L. Weden of Leander also made the list.
Harding University
Samantha Dillon of Leander was among the Harding University students included on the Dean's List for grades achieved during the spring semester.
Dillon is a senior majoring in Exercise Science.
Howard Payne University
Leander native Nathaniel Pepe received honors at Howard Payne University for the spring 2009 by being named to the Honor Roll.
Students must earn a 4.0 grade point average to be named to the President's List, a 3.65-3.99 grade point average to be named to the Dean's List, and a 3.5-3.64 grade point average to be named to the Honor Roll.
Stephen F. Austin
The following students have been named to the Dean's List at Stephen F. Austin State University for the spring semester.
To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more semester hours and maintain a grade-point average of no less than 3.5.

Savannah College of Art and Design
The following local students recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design:
Mark Norton Lopez of Austin, who earned a bachelor of fine arts in broadcast design.
Mary Kathryn Hall of Austin, who earned a bachelor of fine arts in metals and jewelry.
The following local students were named to the Dean's List at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., for spring quarter 2009:
Katherine White of Austin, who is an interior design major and is seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree.
Mark Lopez of Austin, who is a broadcast design major and is seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree.
Michelle Merriman of Austin, who is a sequential art major and is seeking a bachelor of fine arts degree.

The Austin College Dean's List has been announced for Spring Term 2009, according to Austin College Registrar Phyllis Rieser. All students named to the Dean's List earned a semester grade point average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.
