I lived in Block House Creek for 2 years and I really want to know why there are so many police stakeouts?? Is it really necessary? I can't tell you how many times I saw soccer moms in their mini vans getting pulled over! One morning around 6 a.m. I saw 2 motorcycle cops hiding in the trees in front of BHC Elementary. At 6 A.M.!! I think the Hill Country News does what it's meant to do just fine, but this is one ugly website. I can barely even look at the main page due to way too many advertisements (all of them flashing and blinking). Just some constructive criticism. john

SEE YOU AT THE POLE ------------As Mayor Pro Tem representing Leander, I attended two LISD school's SYATP, See You At The Pole, today, Wednesday, September 27. -------------
I am so impressed by the committment that so many of our young people have towards peace, fellowship, prayer, leadership, and obediance. From the Elementary School children at BlockHouse Creek to the Middle School students at our new Wiley MS, they were happy, respectful, polite, sincere, and a joy to watch and hear! -------------
They prayed for guidance and protection on their respective schools and communities, and for themselves and their fellow classmates to be true, faithful, and honest leaders. The theme of the day was "Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations."
Truly, He is exalted in these schools! -------------
Then raising the flags and singing the National Anthem, one final closing prayer and releasing balloons. Each school sent a flurry of pure white balloons "into heaven" like one Blockhouse student put it, "to make Jesus smile!"

I just wanted to say RIP Adam Knox he was such a good friend and was like a big brother throughout middle and high school. He was such a good guy and had so much respect for people. He will be missed dearly. To the family God bless you all just remember he is in a better place now. rochelle delgado

I have recently returned from the Arctic Circle Rendezvous & Expedition. After all the excitement of completing the journey with a total of 12,373 miles added to my motorcycle I had the opportunity to read the excellent story about our adventure that was written when we left.
