CEDAR PARK – The speed limit along the 183A toll road in Cedar Park and Leander increased from 70 mph to 75 mph on Thursday.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority approved the increase at its July board meeting.
Officials say the speed limit is being changed in response to a new state law that increased the maximum legal speed limit allowed on roads like 183A. A speed study was conducted to determine the appropriate speed limit. Drivers must continue to travel at the posted speed until the new signs are installed.
183A is an 11.6-mile expressway operated by the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. It extends from RM 620 in northwest Austin through the cities of Cedar Park and Leander.
