CEDAR PARK — Vandegrift High School senior Jacqueline “Jax” Whittington, 17, was making plans for college two months ago but will likely miss graduation ceremonies in a few days because she is missing, possibly heading toward Oregon with her boyfriend.

Her mother Jana Darling just wants to see her daughter alive and well.

“Literally, every day, I don’t know if she’s alive,” Darling said. “We just want her to know she’s not in trouble. We just want her to be safe.”

Jax was last seen on May 18. She is listed as an endangered runaway on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website. The Cedar Park Police Department is pursuing the case and confirmed that Jax was still listed as “missing” as of Monday.

It is sad that this young lady decided to runaway from her problems and I can understand her parents' concern for her well being but after reading this article and the facebook information I cant quite see how she is "endangered".
