July 4 fireworks to return to Cedar Park, Leander

Last year, both Cedar Park and Leander were forced to cancel July 4 fireworks display due to an unprecedented drought and the extreme fire danger that came with that drought.

And while area lakes and reservoirs are still below normal level this year, the area is in much better shape and the plans are for fireworks to return to both Cedar Park and Leander.

Cedar Park’s 15th Annual 4th of July Celebration

Location: Milburn Park, 1901 Sun Chase Blvd.

Date: July 4, 2012

Time: 4 to 10:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come celebrate the free event with a dance with live music, bingo, a washer tournament, air castles, free watermelon and a fireworks display.

Fees apply for food concessions, face painting, carnival games, hamster balls, video games, laser tag, spinner ride and rock wall.

Leander Liberty Fest

Location: H-E-B Plus! 651 U.S. Highway 183

Time: 6 to 10 p.m.

Leander Liberty Fest is moving to H-E-B Plus where everyone can enjoy free live music by The Emotions and fireworks. There will also be bounce houses and giveaways and concession vendors.

Coolers are welcome. No alcohol or glass.
