Campaign finance reports filed in late March show Adam Benefield had the edge over Vic Villareal and Troy Hill in donations in the the race to replace outgoing Leander Mayor Chris Fielder.
In Cedar Park, Bob Cornelius had the edge over Corbin Van Arsdale in donations during the same reporting period.
Benefield’s contributions totaled $10,950, while Villarreal collected $8,900 and Troy Hill reported $7,200.
Benefield’s number was reduced after the candidate reported that he refused a $5,000 donation from the Texas Stronger PAC, a $500 donation from Central Waste & Recycling.
In Cedar Park, Cornelius reported $14,525 in total contributions through March 26 and Van Arsdale reported $11,80 in total contributions during the same time period. Both candidates are seeking to replace outgoing Cedar Park Mayor Matt Powell.
Another round of campaign finance reports will be released later this month.
