Car Show raises $12K for band


Despite the cool temperatures and constant rain, Rouse RockNRides Car Show still managed to draw hundred of spectators on Saturday. The annual show benefits the Rouse Raider High School Band Boosters and anyone with a car is encouraged to bring theirs out for the competition.

The event took place at Gupton Stadium in Cedar Park and approximately 120 cars entered the contest. Awards were given in categories such as Best Paint, Best Wrap, Best Wheels, Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Truck, Best Corvette, Best Mustang, Best Camaro, Best Classic Chevrolet, Best Modern Chevrolet,  Best Classic Ford, Best Modern Ford, Best Classic Mopar, Best Modern Mopar, Best European,  Best Exotic, Best Import, Best Custom, Best Street Rod, Best Off Road, Best Modern, Best Classic, Best Antique, Best Motorcycle and Best in Show. Awards were

 also given for favorites by State Representative Tony Dale, Leander Mayor Chris Fielder, Leander Police Chief Greg Minton, Cedar Park Police Chief Sean Mannix, Rouse High School’s namesake Charlie Rouse, Rouse High School Principal Christine Simpson and Hill Country News Editor Ashley Sava. 

More than $12,000 was raised for the Rouse Raider High School Band Boosters.
