Cedar Park boys push past Elgin, advance to 6-2 in district


Tanner Radke had a team-high 13 points to lead Cedar Park to a 62-45 win over Elgin in a game that featured multiple technical fouls in the fourth quarter.

Cedar Park stepped out to a 12-4 lead in the opening period but was outscored in the second, as Elgin closed the gap to just five points as the Timberwolves held onto a 25-20 lead at the halftime break.

Radke's 3-point shooting proved an edge, helping Cedar Park pull ahead in a dominant second half.

Elgin's Willie Johnson had a game-high 16 points in the loss for the Wildcats, who slipped to 4-4 in District 19-5A play.

The Timberwolves improve to 11-8 overall and 6-2 in district play with a home game against Bastrop scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.
