Cedar Park girls' advance to regional quarterfinals

Rouse, Vista Ridge and Glenn eliminated in area round

And then there was one.

Cedar Park is the only remaining LISD girls’ basketball team in the playoffs after downing Ruder 54-47 in the area round. Rouse dropped its second-round game to Ennis, Vista Ridge lost to San Antonio East Central and Glenn fell to China Spring.

Jordan Ott had 15 points and hit a trio of 3-pointers, Alex Maresca had 14 points and sophomore Nicole Leff finished with 13 points for the Lady Timberwolves.

The Lady Timberwolves trailed by one point after the first quarter, but scored 13 points in the second quarter and held Rudder to just 20 points in the second half to stretch their winning streak to 15 games.

Cedar Park will face off with Magnolia West in the regional quarterfinals.

For the second year in a row, Rouse matched up with Ennis in the second round. But unlike last year, the Lady Raiders came up short, falling to the Lady Lions 48-47 at Waco Midway High School.

Vista Ridge specked past San Antonio Churchill in the first round, but San Antonio East Central downed the Lady Rangers 57-43 Friday night.

Glenn lost to China Spring 58-33 on Friday. But the Lady Grizzlies already made history with the first playoff win by a team at Glenn with their 44-31 win against La Grange on Monday night. Glenn moves up to Class 5A with Rouse and Cedar Park next season.
