Cedar Park library hosting mini-con next month

Calling all cosplayers and comic aficionados! The Cedar Park Library will host its fourth annual Mini-Con Aug. 10 from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature a panel about cosplay, crafts and activities, tabletop gaming, a kids cosplay contest, a teen cosplay contest, an adult cosplay contest and local artists and vendors including Titan Moon Comics, artist Tori McKenna and Pathway Comics.

“I am always excited to see the enthusiasm our community brings to Mini-Con,” said Senior Public Services Librarian Marjory Gibson. “We have so many talented cosplayers and artists!”

The Mini-Con has become a much-beloved community event that draws in hundreds of community members of all ages every year.

“Mini-Con brings a wide variety of people together to celebrate the geeky side of pop culture,” Gibson said. “It’s a way to share hobbies and interests, meet neighbors, learn about the Library and spend some time at a free, family-friendly event.”

The Library requires all cosplay to be family-friendly. Anyone competing in the contest must sign up by 30 minutes before the contest.

Mini-Con will take place at the Library, 550 Discovery Blvd in Cedar Park. For more information, call 512-401-5638 or visit the Library’s Facebook page at
