The City of Cedar Park is planning a National Night Out Kick-Off party in September, as a part of its 35th year of participation in the police and community initiative.

The event will include music, a petting zoo, a climbing wall, a bounce house, a Department of Public Safety helicopter, McGruff the Crime Dog, the National Night Out Knight, Texas Stars Hockey, Austin Spurs, food and drinks and “lots of fun.”

The event will be held Sept. 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Heritage Oak Park, 875 Quest Pkwy. All are welcome to attend.

Neighborhoods in the community are encouraged to hold their own official National Night Out parties on Oct. 2 from 6 to 9 their home or business. Officers will be out and about to meet with the community at their block parties.

There is no cost to register or participate. To register, visit and fill out the form before Oct. 2.
