Cubs down Express in Game 3, extend PCL Semifinals

The Express dropped their first game of the PCL Semifinals, falling 3-2 on the road against the Iowa Cubs in Game 3 on Friday night.

Rogelio Armenteros suffered the loss as he gave up three runs on five hits over 5.2 innings. Round Rock leads the best-of-five series 2-1.

Iowa scored in the second inning with a two-run double. Ronnie Dawson smacked a solo home run in the sixth inning, but the Cubs answered with a run of their own in the bottom half the inning.

Drew Ferguson worked a bases-loaded walk in the seventh to cut the lead to one, but it was too little too late for the Express.

Round Rock can clinch the series and a spot in the American Conference Championship with a win on Saturday night. Christian Javier is set to start Game 4, which is set to begin at 7:08 p.m. in Iowa.
