Dog-gone good time at Cedar Bark Festival

Residents from Cedar Park and surrounding cities had a doggone good time Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park dressing up along with their canine companions for the Cedar Bark Festival.

The event drew approximately 450 people to the park with several dog-focused local vendors and several events, including a 20-person dog costume contest. The first place winner was a pug dressed as Elton John, complete with miniature piano, and the second place winner featured the dogs dressed as the Seven Dwarfs while their owners were dressed as Snow White and the Prince respectively.

Hailey Harp, the recreation program specialist for the city's Parks and Recreation Department, said the event is a great opportunity to get the community out and help local businesses connect with residents while having all of the revenues generated by the event benefit Friends of Cedar Bark Park.
