Donald Lester Cook, Sr., of Leander, passed away Nov. 6, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on May 11, 1930, the second child of Walter Richardson Cook, Sr. and Mary Martha Hathaway Cook. He met his wife, Adele Morgan, at Morgan Avenue Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, where they married on April 15, 1949. They raised two sons, Donald Lester Cook, Jr. and Alton Alan Cook.
Donald graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1947 and the University of Corpus Christi in 1961 with a degree in Religion. Before and upon graduation he served as part-time pastor for Salem Baptist Church, Ezzell, Texas, and First Baptist Church, Christine, Texas. When his father passed away in 1961 he moved back to Corpus Christi and took over the family business, Cook Air Conditioning. He spent his entire working life in Plumbing and HVAC contracting and design.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, his two sons, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Richard Cook, Carl Cook & Clifton Cook.
