Think your homemade recipe has got what it takes to make it big time?
The folks at H-E-B are searching for Texas’ finest foods and beverages, and they’re calling it their Primo Picks Quest for Texas Bests 2018. They’re kicking off the competition this Super Bowl Sunday with a Cowboy Troy-starring commercial.
H-E-B judges are visiting Austin at the Sustainable Food Center, 2921 East 17th Street Bldg. C on Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 11:30 a.m. They will be sharing insights with local food and beverage creators interested in participating in the 2018 statewide competition. During the event, H-E-B leaders will advise entrants on product development and best practices for submitting their creation into the competition.
Interested creators may submit their unique product details online at heb.com/quest beginning Sunday, Feb. 4 through Sunday, March 18, 2018.
H-E-B will award the Grand Prize winner $25,000, the title of “Texas Best” Primo Pick and placement on store shelves; the first-place winner $20,000; the second-place winner $15,000; and the third-place winner $10,000. To celebrate the fifth anniversary, in addition to the $25,000, this year’s grand prize winner will also receive a brand-new Toyota Tundra.
Since launching in 2014, the Quest for Texas Best has yielded more than 240 new products on H-E-B store shelves across Texas. Last year, Austin’s Sascha Biesi and Yauss Berenji took home the grand prize title and $25,000 for their Skull & Cakebones Mocha Marmalade.
