There’s a whole new look to hillcountrynews.com.
Hill Country News launched its new website in late July. The website, designed in partnership with Creative Circle, brings a modern design with several new features for displaying newspaper content on the web.
After a long process of determining the best software for the website, the ultimate goal was to improve the displays of articles on the web, said Scott W. Coleman, Hill Country News publisher.
“One of the most important things for us was to be able to present stories more visually,” he said. “This new site does that, and it also allows us to deliver more of the types of stories that our readers have been telling us they wanted.”
The website’s homepage now offers new layouts for state and regional news, top sports news for professional and high school sports, a scoreboard for games and entertainment news. Readers will notice new highlighted quotes from stories, infoboxes and Google Maps displays on articles as well as more prominent photos.
The new website is part of a long plan to improve the newspaper based on survey results from readers and advertisers, Coleman said.
“We’re proud of our new look and the ability to bring much more content to our readers using this new format,” he said.
