The LISD athletic department has a new leader.
Jody Hormann was named the new athletic director on Friday, returning to the area after spending two years in the same position with the Prosper ISD.
“On behalf of LISD, we are excited to welcome Jody into this new role,” LISD superintendent Dr. Dan Troxell said in a press release, “Jody is a proven and dynamic leader who brings strong leaderships skills with a diverse athletic background. She is committed to academics and to supporting all programs and students.”
Brad Mansfield has been the interim athletic director since June, when former Leander football coach Lee Bridges, who was in the position for months, retired.
She is the district’s fourth athletic director since 2012.
Hormann spent time working in the district before taking the job in Prosper. She began as the volleyball and girls’ basketball coach at Leander in 2008. She took over as Vandegrift girls’ basketball coach in 2009 and amassed a 52-44 record until she left the position in 2012 to join the district office as an assistant athletic director for three years.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston-Victoria and a master’s degree from Lamar University.
