The Leander City Council is expected to officially swear in Troy Hill as Mayor at its July 5 meeting, after a retirement ceremony for former Mayor Chris Fielder took place at the Council’s June 21 meeting.
Hill, who previously served one term on the city council before resigning to run for mayor, beat Vic Villarreal in a June 16 runoff election. The Council will also seek to select the Mayor Pro Tem for 2018-2019. Hill joins newly-elected council members Christine Sederquist (Place 4) and Marci Cannon (Place 6). Place 2 council member Michelle Stephenson was re-elected during the regular May 5 election.
The Council will also receive a GO bonds update and is set to consider renewal of the employee health benefits plans including medical, prescriptions, dental, vision, basic and voluntary life and accidental death and dismemberment, short and long term disability, cancer and accident, employee assistance program, flexible spending account and health savings account with current providers for the 2018-2019 plan year.
Consideration of Change Order No. 7 to construction contract for Bagdad Road Paving Improvements Project will also be discussed, possibly increasing the time allowed for completion by 120 days.
The Leander City Council will meet at Pat Bryson Municipal Hall, 201 N. Brushy St., Leander at 7 p.m.
