The streets of Old Town in Leander will be filled to the brim next week with artisans, musicians and food vendors as part of the annual Old Town Street Festival on May 18.
The free event, created by The Leander Chamber of Commerce five years ago, will host around 140 local and national business vendors showcasing a variety of products ranging from handmade jewelry to custom rugs.
The event will also include attractions for kids like a petting zoo, pony rides, and a train for children to ride on.
The festival, which is expected by the chamber to attract 20,000 attendees, is part of the chamber’s efforts to promote local businesses in Leander.
“One of the purposes of the event and the reason that the chamber started this event was to give those businesses that maybe didn’t have a storefront an opportunity to get exposure,” said Bridget Brandt, President of the Leander Chamber of Commerce.
Country singer Doug Stone will also be performing and a wide-array of cuisine will be available from local food vendors to purchase.
