Stop by Legacy at Crystal Falls in Leander and take a star off their giving tree.
Starting now, those who want to make a difference this holiday season can choose to participate in Operation Secret Santa program for seniors. Legacy at Crystal Falls, (a memory care and assisted living facility in Leander), partnered with Williamson and Burnet County Opportunities to gather wish lists from seniors in the community.
Christine Moss, Executive Director at Legacy, said this program is for seniors in the Meals on Wheels of Williamson and Burnet Counties program. Those seniors turn in a wish list and the staff at Legacy turns the wishes into stars and hangs them on their Christmas tree. Locals can stop by and grab a star from the tree and purchase a Santa gift for someone in need.
Seniors as young as 60 can receive gifts, but the average recipient is about 70. At this point, 35 stars have been received. Last year there were 80 seniors on the delivery list.
Those interested in being a senior’s Secret Santa have until Dec. 14 to grab a star. The gifts will be delivered on Dec. 19.
