Round Mountain Baptist Church names Pax pastor

Leander’s Round Mountain Baptist Church has a new pastor.

After deliberation among its congregants, earlier this month the Round Mountain Baptist Church selected Edmund Pax to lead the church.

Pax, a retired military officer and frequent volunteer at the New Hope First Baptist Church in Cedar Park, was welcomed to the church with a celebratory barbecue luncheon.

“I think the best days are definitely ahead of us,” said Loretta Hefner, 72, a volunteer clerk for the church. “Pastor Pax is a gentle, kind, bible-believing man of god. It’s very exciting for us.”

Pax was selected from a pool of 13 others on April 7. After the congregants were able to winnow the selection down to the top three candidates, and after one of those candidates dropped out, Pax was ultimately chosen as the new pastor for the 27-year-old church.

The church is located at 14500 Round Mountain Road in Leander and holds services on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
