Rouse volleyball is at the top of the latest TGCA Volleyball poll released Monday.
The Lady Raiders are off to an 18-3 record this season. They finished in fifth place after going 7-2 at the Frauline Volleyfest in New Braunfels last weekend. e’lan McCall and Maddie Sheehan were named to the all-tournament team.
Rouse dropped just one of its first 20 sets of the season and began the year on a 10-match winning streak before falling to San Antonio Reagan on Aug. 12. The Lady Raiders beat Leander 3-1 last Tuesday before heading to New Braunfels for the tournament.
McCall, a TCU commit, leads the team with 195 kills. Senior Dani Cole is second on the team with 127 and sophomore Grayson Schirpik is third with 107 and leads the Lady Raiders with 27 aces.
McCall also has a team-high 230 digs, just seven more than senior Katy Northcut. Sheehan has more than 500 assists in 50 sets played.
Rouse is helping host the LISD Volleypalooza beginning Thursday and running through Saturday at schools across the district. More than 65 schools from across the state will compete in the tournament.
The Lady Raiders then continue their defense of the district title with back-to-back road games next week, traveling to face Cedar Creek on Tuesday and Bastrop on Friday with both games set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
