STAR TREK: DISCOVERY launches this weekend

CBS will air new series 50 years after the original first premiered

"STAR TREK: DISCOVERY" will launch Sunday, Sept. 24 with a broadcast premiere that night on the CBS Television Network airing 8:30-9:30 PM, ET/PT. "Star Trek," one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns to television 50 years after it first premiered with "STAR TREK: DISCOVERY." The series will feature a new ship, new characters, and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers. The 15-episode season will be released in two chapters: the first eight episodes will run from Sunday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 5, and the second chapter will resume in January 2018.

ABC will premiere its new series "The Good Doctor" on Monday, September 25 at 10 PM ET/PT. Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join the prestigious St. Bonaventure hospital’s surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, his only advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), challenges the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital’s board and staff when he brings him in to join the team. Shaun will need to work harder than he ever has before, as he navigates his new environment and relationships to prove to his colleagues that his extraordinary medical gifts will save lives. The series also stars Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chuku Modu, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper and Tamlyn Tomitai.

NBC begins its new season Monday, Sept. 25 at 8 PM ET/PT with a two-hour telecast of the blind Auditions for season 13 of "The Voice," which features new coach Jennifer Hudson, as well as the return of coaches Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. The Voice will immediately be followed at 10 PM by the premiere of "The Brave," a heart-pounding journey into the complex world of America's elite undercover military heroes, The series stars Anne Heche as a Washington, D.C.-based D.I.A. Deputy Director and Mike Vogel as the captain of an elite overseas Special Ops squad of highly trained undercover specialists which carries out each mission on the ground. His team is armed with incredible sniper Sgt Jasmine ‘Jaz’ Khan (Natacha Karam), CPO Ezekiel “Preach” Carter (Demetrius Grosse), combat medic Sgt Joseph “McG” McGuire (Noah Mills) and intelligence officer Agent Amir Al-Raisani (Hadi Tabbal). This team works hand-in-hand with D.I.A. Deputy Director and her team of analysts including veterans Cultural Specialist Noah Morgenthau (Tate Ellington) and Mission Coordinator Hannah Archer (Sofia Pernas), as they wield the world's most advanced surveillance technology from headquarters in D.C.
