Stars fall to Wolves in shootout

Texas added forwards Max French and Steve McParland to roster on Monday

The Stars’ quick road trip got off to a just as fast start on Tuesday afternoon.

Texas saw its two-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 shootout loss on the road against the Chicago Wolves. It’s the first Stars loss to the Wolves in four meetings this season.

Denis Gurianov scored for Texas to tie the game with less than five minutes left in the third period, but Chicago tallied on two of three penalty shots and Brent Regner and Travis Morin missed in the shootout for the Stars.

Landon Bow stopped 41 of the 44 shots he saw during regulation and overtime to fall to 15-11-4 on the season.

Roope Hintz scored his 15th goal of the season off a feed from Gurianov and Austin Fyten and Regner tallied his sixth goal of the season less than a minute later to give Texas a one-goal lead late in the second period.

The Stars face off with the Rockford IceHogs Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning home with a chance to get some revenge against the Wolves Saturday at 7 p.m.

On Monday, the Dallas Stars recalled Jason Dickinson. He has appeared in 13 NHL game this season with 12 shots. In 36 AHL appearance, he has six assists and 16 goals, good for second on the team.

Texas added Max French and signed forward Steve McParland from the Idaho Steelheads. French has appeared in 25 AHL games this year, while McParland joins the team on a professional tryout agreement.
