Texas Stars sign two-time national champion Parker MacKay

The Texas Stars added Minnesota-Duluth captain Parker MacKay for the 2019-20 season.

Most recently, MacKay captained the Bulldogs to their second consecutive national championship and was named the NCAA Frozen Four tournament MVP. He scored a goal and had an assist in the 3-0 win over Massachusetts-Amherst in the title game.

His most prolific season with Minnesota-Duluth was his last one, scoring 16 goals and racking up 17 assists in 40 games. In his career with the Bulldogs, he has 37 goals and 33 assists in 136 games.

MacKay led Minnesota-Duluth in points and goals during his senior year.

The Alberta native played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Spruce Grove Saints and finished with 119 points (45 goals, 74 assists) in 144 games spanning three seasons. He also earned multiple team and league awards during his junior career.

The Texas Stars missed out on the 2019 Calder Cup playoffs just one year after a Cinderella run to the Calder Cup Finals in 2018. Texas has made the playoffs in seven of its 10 seasons in Cedar Park.
