The soccer playoffs continue and the baseball and softball seasons enter the final month of the regular season this week.
The Cedar Park girls’ soccer team heads to Brenham to take on College Station Thursday at 6 p.m. and Vandegrift faces Schertz Clemens at Rattler Stadium in San Marcos Thursday at 7 p.m. Rouse plays A&M Consolidated Friday at 7 p.m.
Vista Ridge and Vandegrift, who are separated by one game for second place in district play, meet in a home-and-home on Friday and Saturday.
The last time Rouse and Cedar Park met on the softball diamond, the Lady Raiders came from behind to win 7-3. Rouse (17-5, 8-1) is tied with Elgin (13-4, 8-1) for the top spot in the district, while Cedar Park (6-12, 2-4) has lost two of its last three games.
The two rivals meet again Friday at 7 p.m. at Cedar Park.
On the ice, the Stars are still in the playoff race and have used a stellar 8-1 overtime record to remain just percentage points back. They beat the Stockton Heat 5-4 in a shootout last Saturday night.
Texas hits the road for a quick three-game road trip beginning in Illinois against the Rockford IceHogs Friday at 7 p.m. They return home next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against the Bakersfield Condors.
The Spurs were eliminated from playoff contention last week. But Austin has been one of the best teams in the league over the last month, winning five of its last six games and seven of 11 games in March.
They finish the regular season at home against the Sioux Falls Skyforce Saturday at 7 p.m.
