Toll 183A rates increase

Lakeline, Crystal Falls and Park Street mainlines and ramps each see increases from 1 to 3 cents

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority rang in 2018 with increasing toll charges at several TxTAG gates on US 183A, effectively adding 6 cents in charges for full passage.

As of Jan. 1, 2018, toll rates at The Lakeline mainline increased from $0.55 to $.56, Crystal Falls mainline $1.05 to $1.07 and the Park Street mainline from $1.48 to $1.51.

Pay by Mail rates will also increase by 2.23 percent, effectively adding nine cents for full passage.

The CTRMA board approved the increases at their Dec. 13 meeting.

Each October, CTRMA staff determined the consumer price index for all urban consumers increased by 2.23 percent in 2017 to match inflation.

The original 2007 opening rates were determined by many factors such as cost of construction and operations and demographics. As the system has developed and the 183A corridor has spurred economic develop and traffic growth, at the direction of the board, the RMA is looking at several different methods to align toll rates along the corridor moving forward.
