Westwood rolled on both sides of the ball on Thursday night’s 63-13 win against Lehman at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, beating the Lobos in the season opener for the second straight year.
Will Jennings completed 12 of his 21 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns and only played in the first three quarters. Cameron Thomas caught eight passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns, while Jaikem Murphy, making his first career start at running back, rumbled for 161 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.
Chad Dixon, making his first appearance on the football field in more than a season, finished with two interceptions and returned one of them for a touchdown. Joel Navarro recovered a fumble for the Warriors’ defense, which allowed its fewest points in a single game since Oct. 16, 2015.
The Warriors continue non-district play with a trip to Bible Stadium to face Rouse next Friday night before hosting Leander in Week 3 on Sept. 14.
