Williamson County residents to vote on parks, roads bonds this November

Posted

Williamson County residents will have two bonding proposals to consider on the Nov. 5 ballot that will fund a wide variety of park and road projects throughout the county.

The $412 million roads bond will include approximately $35 million in projects in Precinct 1 and $102 million in projects in Precinct 2, which covers Cedar Park, Leander and portions of Austin.

Notable projects include approximately $30 million for widening Hero Way from U.S. 183A to Ronald Reagan Boulevard, $7 million for planning an interchange Parmer Lane and Highway 45 and $4 million for widening Whitestone Boulevard from Bagdad Road to Anderson Mill Road

The $35 million parks bond will include approximately $27 million for improving or expanding hike and bike trails throughout the county and $8 million for improvements for existing parklands.

The bonds are reduced version of the priority projects submitted by cities in the county earlier this year.
