Free to be

Happy Independence Day! 1776 was a significant year – thirteen colonies claimed their independence from England which later led to the formation of the United Sates. Each Fourth of July, we celebrate independence and freedom.

Are you free?

Freedom comes at a cost. I honor the men and women of the Armed Forces who have fought and continue to fight to maintain the freedom and liberties we have. The Bible teaches us in John 8:36, if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Freedom provides the opportunity to fulfill God given potential. Freedom allows the opportunity to live out our best life with purpose. Without freedom we experience limitation, fear, restraint and hopelessness. When you reflect upon life, are you living free? What is stopping you? What can you change? When will you start?

Freedom comes at a cost both in the natural and the supernatural. I Timothy 6:12 teaches us to fight the good fight of faith. That means sometimes it’s not easy to stand in faith, you must fight to teach your mind to think right, your mouth to speak right, and emotions to behave right.

I Timothy 6:12 reads: Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

The Greek word for good in this text is kalos and means what is better and or eminent. Fight for what is better and eminent. The good fight – is for the better. It’s a God sent, better life.

God will never leave you nor forsake you. In Him is freedom. 2 Corinthians 3:17 teaches us… where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. God wants you to live your best life. Freedom from debt exists. Freedom from negative thought patterns exists. Freedom from life experiences that weigh you down exist. God is with us to walk us to freedom.

God has placed gifts within each of us. To truly experience the release of an unlocked gift, you must walk in freedom. You find freedom through Christ. You find freedom in His Word. Invest in unlocking your gift and walking in freedom. Many times, we unintentionally get stuck feeding our pain, defending our pain, excusing our pain and by the time you step back, months and years have wasted by.

Today, declare your freedom and take steps to walk in liberty.

There was a man who was dealt a hard hand in life. Everyday was a struggle to get to the next level. It always seemed as though something came up, hindered, blocked or delayed his progress and potential. Some days he felt his hands were tied. Other days he was hopeful. This man learned through faith in Christ Jesus he didn’t have to walk alone. This man began to speak the word of God and circumstances began to change and turn in his favor. Everyday was not easy, but he fought the good fight of faith. He fought for what was better and eminent. Regardless of the hand you are dealt, fight the good fight. You can change the story of your life mid cycle and have a better ending.

God has called you to be the head and not the tail. To go over and not under, to stay above and not beneath. He has given you the victory – go secure it. With God there is nothing impossible. We do the practical and God does the providential. Do not give up, do not give in and don’t step back. Make no small plans! God has called you to freedom. #FreeToBeMe

You are loved, accepted, an over comer, victorious, healthy, full of the Lord’s wisdom and understanding, anointed, approved, and free to be all that God has called you to be. Happy Fourth of July!
