The Grove Wine Bar and Kitchen is opening at a new location in Cedar Park in early July. The new restaurant and bar, known for its appetizing menus, will open at 1310 Whitestone Blvd. near the corner of 183A and FM 1431. It will be the Austin restaurant's fourth location.
The restaurant's kitchen, which will feature popular entrees like roasted chicken and braised short ribs, will be overseen by well-known executive chef Michael Ortiz. The restaurant, which has three established locations in Lakeway, Westlake and downtown Austin, has items like pizza, pasta and salads on its menu as well as an extensive wine selection.
"We pride ourselves on being the neighborhood go-to place to eat," said restaurateur Reed Clemons, who owns the Grove Wine Bars with two partners, builder Beth Lasita, and Matt Berendt, the day-to-day manager of the restaurants and also the Grove Wine Bar's wine director.
Clemons said the owners are planning to open their new Cedar Park location right after Independence Day. Probably the 5th or 6th of July, he said.
In addition to sophisticated wines, the Grove Wine Bar features popular affordable menu items.
"We pride ourselves in offering delicious farm-to-table food that doesn't break the bank," said Clemons, who has operated more than a dozen restaurants over the years. "High quality food but without the sticker shock."
Clemons, Lasita and Berendt toured Cedar Park with city economic development officials before deciding on the new location.
"We hadn't seen all the growth,” Clemons said. “It is amazing. It is a natural fit for us. We really take pride in what we do and we're looking forward to becoming part of the Cedar Park community."
