Cedar Park's National Night Out celebration Tuesday drew between 40 and 50 block parties marking the event.
The parties were held from 6 to 9 p.m. with the parties ranging from 20 to 300 people each.
Cedar Park Police spokesperson Alicia Inns said 30 officers attended and participated in the parties.
National Night Out is celebrated by cities across the country by turning on their porch lights and getting together with neighbors with collegiality as an expression of solidarity against crime. The event is held Aug. 6 nationally although many parts of Texas and select other parts of the country hold it in October.
Austin, Leander and Round Rock will celebrate their 2019 National Night Out on Oct. 1.
