Suspect in custody after firing on Cedar Park police
Cedar Park police were still searching for the suspect in a Sunday night shooting on Tuesday afternoon.
Cedar Park police arrested a man who allegedly opened fire on police outside a home near the intersection of Little Elm Trail and Wren Circle Tuesday night.
Police say they arrived on the scene about 8:15 p.m. to respond to reports of a man threatening to harm himself. The man began shooting at police, and though no officers were struck, a patrol car windshield was shattered and one officer sustained a hand injury while avoiding fire.
After the gunfire ceased, the man came out of the house of his own accord and was taken into custody. No one else was inside the home, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
