A Williamson County correctional officer has been arrested and charged with introduction of contraband into the Williamson County Jail.
A public statement was released Wednesday afternoon by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office confirming that Jonathan Stanquavious Flournoy, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with a third degree felony.
The sheriff's office release said that detectives had received information on the case in March and Flournoy was arrested after an investigation into the allegations.
"Detectives with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Williamson County Corrections Division that Flournoy was introducing tobacco products into the jail and exchanging the products for cash with several inmates housed in the jail," the release said.
Bond information was not available from Williamson County Jail records on Wednesday afternoon, and the Sheriff's Office release said that Sheriff Robert Chody would have no further comment on the case at this time.
