You are more than able to handle life’s problems

The obstacles of life and pressures of reality can sometimes bring you down. You can feel discouraged and defeated, with the promise of tomorrow far and out of reach.

I want you to know that although the winds and the waves of life may beat upon your ship; with your soul anchored in Christ, nothing will hinder you from obtaining the promises of God. If you are feeling overwhelmed and keep running into barriers, if you feel you are out of solutions and nowhere to turn; remember, it is faith that gives you the ability to overcome. It is hope that gives you strength for the next day and it’s the promises of God that lets you know you are more than able to do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

As the children of Israel entered the promise land, Moses promised Caleb he would give him a portion of the land. When the time came for Caleb to acquire his portion, the bible tells us in Joshua 14:10-12 he spoke this: “Now, as you can see, the Lord has kept me alive and well; as he promised for all these forty-five years since Moses made this promise—even while Israel wandered in the wilderness. Today I am eighty-five years old. I am as strong now as I was when Moses sent me on that journey, and I can still travel and fight as well as I could then. So give me the hill country that the Lord promised me.”

Caleb was saying I am more than able to take what belongs to me. Age was not a factor. Time was not a factor. Don’t settle for anything but God’s best in every area of your life. Delays do not equal denial. It took 40 years in the wilderness plus many years later for Caleb to receive his portion. He never allowed doubt to set in. The scriptures tell us the Lord orders our steps. Allow Him to continue leading you.

Caleb was brave. Caleb was bold. Caleb was dedicated. Caleb was consistent. When his situation looked impossible, when his solution seemed far off he did not give up. His resolve on the inside reminded him he was able.

When you feel you have taken your last breath, given your all, and have nothing left, remember that you are more than able. What God has for you, is for you. Don’t allow the losses in life to hinder you from moving forward. Caleb was bold as a lion and not a quitter.

He had no quit in his game. You must have no quit in your game. Neither his age nor the fight intimidated him from taking his promised portion. The reason was because he knew he was more than able to take his portion of what the Lord had promised.

What mountain belongs to you? What promotions or places has the Lord said belongs to you that you have not gone after? Don’t sit by and let it pass you by, instead go after it and say like Caleb - I am more than able to take the portion that belongs to me. Caleb could have settled, after all the years of pressing through. But the promise inside was just as alive as it was when it was given to him.

He determined deep down inside he would take what belonged to him. Don’t be discouraged if you haven’t acquired your portion. It could be around the corner. It could be a step away. It could be one idea away.

Every step Caleb took was a step toward his promise. Keep stepping toward your promise and keep fighting the good fight of faith until you obtain your portion. When you arrive just like Caleb you will say, “I am more than able to take my portion.”
