A Cedar Park Police Department investigation into the robbery of the Black Rock Vape shop in Cedar Park led to the arrest of 20 alleged street gang members in Georgia last Friday, April 5, 2024. Four of the individuals are facing charges in Williamson County related to the Cedar Park burglary. Construction continues on Samsung’s 6 million square foot manufacturing facility located in Taylor, about 30 miles northeast of downtown Austin, on January 6, 2024. However, multiple media outlets have recently reported the company will delay mass production of semiconductors at the facility until 2025, several months after the initial target. Samsung Electronics recently announced it would add a second, 2.7 million square foot, building to the facility originally announced in 2021. The second fabrication plant is part of the $17 billion chip plant that is reported to have risen to a an estimated cost of $25 billion due to increase costs of raw materials and construction.
